A redline is a copy of a contract with changes marked: words taken out are struck through, and new words are shown in colour. The name comes from the red ink once used for it. Both sides send redlines back and forth until they agree the wording. In word processors this is usually called tracked changes or suggesting mode.
Before the call, Sam wants to send Northgate IT a marked-up copy of the contract showing the changes Fenwick would like.
Writing contract wording is slow, and getting it wrong is easy. A chat AI can draft the changes and explain each one in plain words.
It can also suggest changes nobody asked for, and say they are harmless.
